Head of Diseases Control Center – 67% of infected patients have already recovered

Amiran Gamkrelidze, Head of the National Center for Diseases Control and Public Health claims that the epidemic situation is better in Georgia than in other countries of the world though this does not give the ground for being calm.

According to Gamkrelidze, there are 713 laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Georgia and the 67% of infected patients have already recovered. Those, who are discharged from hospital, undergo testing twice. The fatality rate is 1.68%.

About 45 thousand persons underwent PCR testing in the country out of which 3 thousand are repeated tests conducted on the 13th and 14th day of the quarantine.
