Georgian FM engages with San Francisco Mayor

On 4 June 2026, during her visit to San Francisco, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Botchorishvili, met with the Mayor of San Francisco, Daniel Lurie.

The meeting focused on issues related to Georgia’s representation in San Francisco.

The Minister expressed appreciation to the Mayor for his support in the establishment of an innovation hub at the Consulate General of Georgia.

The issues discussed during the meeting included prospects for cooperation within the broader framework of Georgia-United States relations. Particular emphasis was placed on Georgia’s economic development progress, with reference to the country’s attractive business and investment environment, its strategic location and potential.

The meeting further highlighted San Francisco’s prominent role in the fields of innovation and technology, as well as the importance for the Georgian side of effectively using the existing opportunities. In this context, the establishment of an innovation hub was underscored as a key contributing initiative.
