Amiran Gamkrelidze: Truck drivers undergoing COVID-19 testing at the border

The Head of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health (NCDC), Amiran Gamkrelidze, said: “the strict quarantine will remain in force.”

Gamkrelidze noted that after arriving in Georgia, every person should undergo a two-week quarantine period and then COVID-19 testing.

“Out of the eight coronavirus cases recorded today, six have confirmed the virus during the quarantine period. They arrived from Russia and Armenia,” Gamkrelidze stated.

The Head of NCDC pointed out that rapid tests are being carried out at all border crossings. He added that around 1500 drivers have been placed under quarantine or self-isolation in Georgia. They will be tested for the virus from tomorrow.
