Georgian Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture meets Turkish colleague

Georgian Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture Davit Songhulashvili met the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Turkey, İbrahim Yumaklı, during his working visit to Turkiye.

The sides reviewed prospects for deepening cooperation accentuating boosting trade with agricultural products.

David Songulashvili thanked the Turkish counterpart for the decision to allow the export of Georgian honey to the Turkish market and noted that this is an opportunity for Georgian beekeepers to increase the export of their own products, while the Turkish side will have access to honey of high quality and distinctive taste.

Davit Songulashvili discussed with his Turkish counterpart the export of live cattle, meat and meat products from Georgia to Turkey, as well as the possibilities of transit through the territory of Turkiye. The conversation also touched on animal vaccination.
