Amiran Gamkrelidze – Persons in tight contact with infected people, should be placed in self-isolation

The persons who have had tight contact with the infected people, should be placed in self-isolation without testing – Amiran Gamkrelidze, Head of National Center for Diseases Control and Public Health said after the sitting of Coordination Council.

According to Gamkrelidze, those, who have no possibility of self-isolation, will be transferred to the quarantine spaces.

“The majority of the newly-revealed cases are persons with symptoms of the infection and those who had contact with the already confirmed cases,” Gamkrelidze said.

Georgia today reported 453 new cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) today, bringing the total number of infected people to 7 093.
