GNCC: TV Formula not violated copyright, related rights of Georgian First Channel

The Georgian National Communications Commission (GNCC) has rejected the complaint of Georgian First Channel against TV Formula.

The case concerns TV Formula’s program “Pskeri (Bottom)” that used the logos and visual packaging of Georgian First Channel and its program “Akhali Dge” (New Day) unchanged.

According to the GNCC, TV Formula parodied the visual components of Georgian First Channel and satirized the logos.

“Based on the case file, it is clear that TV Formula did not intend to use Georgian First Channel’s logos and  visual packaging as its own but to satirize them in its satirical-humorous show. Accordingly, Georgian National Communications Commission did not satisfy the complaint of Georgian First Channel,” said the GNCC.
