Speaker says Georgian government is open and honest in relations with U.S.
“We are absolutely open and honest in our relations with the United States and the American people—everything is on the table,” said the Speaker of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili.
According to him, the suspension of the strategic partnership by the Biden administration creates an opportunity to establish a new and more effective agreement.
“We can even say that some setbacks bring benefits. The fact that the Biden administration suspended the partnership may open the door for positive change. The previous strategic partnership was largely symbolic and ineffective, and its unilateral termination now offers a chance to sit down and redefine the relationship in a way that truly benefits both the American and Georgian people,” Shalva Papuashvili stated.
