Speaker meets Montenegro’s Parliamentary President

Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, held a meeting with the President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Andrija Mandić.

According to the Georgian Parliament, Papuashvili thanked his Montenegrin counterpart for the invitation to participate in the Summit of Speakers of Parliaments of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean member and partner countries.

During the meeting, the parties discussed bilateral relations between Georgia and Montenegro, noting the ongoing development of parliamentary cooperation and exchanges between the two legislatures.

Papuashvili also congratulated Montenegro on progress made in its European integration process, particularly regarding the advancement of work connected to the country’s accession agreement with the European Union.

Mandić spoke about Montenegro’s EU integration experience and expressed readiness to share that experience with Georgia.

The discussion additionally touched on cooperation between the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation, whose current chairmanship is held by Georgia.
