Head of Diseases Control Center – Infection is not retreating, more attention is needed to cope with challenge

Amiran Gamkrelidze, Head of National Center for Diseases Control and Public Health said that epidemiological situation remained difficult globally. Therefore, as he said, more attention was needed on part of the government, medical sphere and society.

“Coronavirus infection is not retreating; on the contrary, it is gaining strength. More attention was needed on part of the government, medical sphere and society to cope with this unusual challenge facing the whole world,” Gamkrelidze said.

Georgia has reported 2 295 new coronavirus cases, 19 deaths and 2 537 recoveries today, according to stopcov.ge, a special webpage created by the Georgian Government.
