Health Minister calls coronavirus seasonal virus

Georgian Health Minister Zurab Azarashvili on Monday said “Today, the coronavirus is regarded as a common, seasonal virus, and there is no ground for panic.”

As Azarashvili pointed out, “assigning a name to any new coronavirus variant, be it EG.5 or another, is a subject of scientific research.”

“Today, the coronavirus is a common, seasonal infection, which we experience at different times of the year,” the Minister added.
