Environmental Agency warns of heavy rain in coming days

The National Environmental Agency has issued a weather warning for Georgia, forecasting heavy rain and strong winds in the coming days.

According to forecasters, rainfall is expected across the country from the evening of September 18 through the second half of September 20. In some areas, the precipitation may be intense, accompanied by lightning, hail, and strong winds. At sea, storm surges of 3–4 points are anticipated.

“The expected precipitation may lead to a significant rise in river water levels, flash floods on small rivers, and the initiation or activation of landslides and mudslides in hilly and mountainous areas. The danger level is assessed as medium,” the Agency stated.
