According to the National Environmental Agency of Georgia, rainfall is expected across western Georgia from late June 1 until the afternoon of June 2, with locally heavy precipitation forecast in the mountainous areas of the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region.

Thunderstorms and stronger winds are also possible during this period.

The agency warns that the expected rainfall may cause significant rises in water levels on rivers in western Georgia, flash flooding on smaller rivers, and the initiation or intensification of landslide and mudflow processes in hilly and mountainous areas. Forecasters have assessed the threat level as moderate.
