Brief spells of rain and thunderstorms expected across parts of Georgia amid high temperatures on June 6–8
The National Environment Agency (NEA) has issued its weather forecast for Georgia covering the period June 6 to 8.
Meteorologists predict that over the coming days, brief spells of rain and thunderstorms are likely in scattered parts of the country, set against a backdrop of high temperatures.
Tbilisi: Short bursts of rain and thunderstorms are expected during the evening and overnight hours. Daytime temperatures will reach +27 to +29°C.
Coastal areas (Batumi, Kobuleti, Anaklia, Poti): Warm and predominantly dry conditions are forecast. Daytime temperatures will reach +25 to +27°C.
Lowland areas of western Georgia (Zestaponi, Kutaisi, Samtredia, Zugdidi, Martvili, Ozurgeti): Isolated light showers are possible amid the warm weather. Daytime temperatures will reach +27 to +29°C.
Mountainous areas of western Georgia (Ambrolauri, Oni, Tsageri, Shovi, Chiatura, Sachkhere, Khulo, Rikoti Pass): Isolated light showers are possible amid the warm weather. Daytime temperatures will reach +26 to +28°C.
High-altitude areas of western Georgia (Mestia, Bakhmaro): Localised brief showers and thunderstorms are expected. Daytime temperatures will reach +21 to +23°C.
Kartli (Rustavi, Bolnisi, Marneuli, Gardabani, Gori, Tskhinvali): Localised brief showers and thunderstorms are expected. Daytime temperatures will reach +27 to +29°C.
Kakheti (Sagarejo, Telavi, Gurjaani, Signagi, Lagodekhi, Kvareli, Akhmeta, Dedoplistskaro): Localised brief showers and thunderstorms are expected, with the possibility of hail. Daytime temperatures will reach +27 to +29°C.
Mountainous areas of eastern Georgia (Akhaltsikhe, Borjomi, Dusheti, Tianeti, Pasanauri): Localised brief showers and thunderstorms are expected. Daytime temperatures will reach +24 to +26°C.
High-altitude areas of eastern Georgia (Akhalkalaki, Tsalka, Bakuriani, Gudauri, Omalo): Isolated brief showers are possible. Daytime temperatures will reach +16 to +18°C.
