COVID-19 case revealed in Savaneti village of Bolnisi Municipality

A young woman, who is placed at Marenuli Pediatric Clinic together with her child, has been confirmed with COVID-19.

Bolnisi Mayor Davit Sherazadishvili confirmed the fact in an interview with Georgian Public Broadcaster. The mother and child are locals of Savaneti village of Bolnisi Municipality.

The child first tested negative but is detected with symptoms of the virus and will be subjected to the second testing.

According to Sherazadishvili, epidemiologists are trying to determine the source of infection and studying contacts in the village.

Two new cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) were revealed in Georgia in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of infected people to 895.
