The voter turnout in the local elections stands at 7.85% as of 10 a.m., the Central Election Commission (CEC) announced at a briefing.
According to Natia Ioseliani, press secretary of the CEC, the highest turnout has been recorded in the Racha-Lechkhumi region.
“The election administration continues to keep voters and participating parties informed about the progress of the voting day. At present, voting at polling stations is proceeding calmly.
As of 10 a.m., 275,948 voters, or 7.85%, have cast their ballots, with the highest participation reported in Racha-Lechkhumi.
For voters unable to visit polling stations due to health reasons, mobile ballot boxes have already been deployed. Voters using mobile ballot boxes are also being officially marked.
Under election law, campaigning inside polling station buildings is strictly prohibited. Campaign materials may not be placed within 25 meters of a polling station entrance, and physically obstructing voter movement within 100 meters of polling stations is forbidden. It is also prohibited to gather people or register voters within this 100-meter zone on election day.
Additionally, paid or free pre-election advertising on television and radio is banned until 8 p.m. Publishing results of public opinion polls related to the elections is also prohibited,” the CEC stated.
