CEC Publishes latest report on information space monitoring
The Central Election Commission of Georgia has published its latest report on information space monitoring, covering the period from 31 October to 31 December 2025. Monitoring was conducted by the Information-Analytical Division of the CEC’s Strategic Communications Department using qualitative, sociological, and quantitative research methods.
The report analyzed 103 pieces of information. Daily observation and analysis indicated that, during the reporting period, the dissemination of disinformation and manipulative narratives continued. Certain stakeholders sought to discredit the Election Administration and the 2024–2025 electoral processes. Representatives of some political parties and non-governmental organizations spread disinformation and unsubstantiated manipulative content through multiple communication channels, including television, online agencies, and social media. Frequently, these narratives were factually inaccurate or entirely unfounded, while some were deliberately manipulated.
Monitoring revealed that these stakeholders systematically attempted to undermine the credibility of the electoral process, the CEC, and its leadership by distributing identical disinformation and manipulative narratives. This confirms that the spread of disinformation remains a significant challenge and highlights the necessity of continuous monitoring and timely response to ensure accurate public information.
Accordingly, the CEC’s Strategic Communications Department continues to monitor the information space both during electoral and non-electoral periods, enabling prompt and appropriate response to disinformation and ensuring that verified, accurate information is provided to the public.
