The final session of 2025 was held today at the Central Election Commission (CEC). During the meeting, the Chairperson of the CEC, Giorgi Kalandarishvili, summarized 2025. He spoke in detail about the activities carried out by the Election Administration and expressed his gratitude to the administration’s employees for their work. Giorgi Kalandarishvili wished the members of the Commission, the attendees of the session, and the general public a Happy New Year.

“The final session of the year is a good opportunity to summarize the current year and once again look back at the long path we have traveled together. It was a period that demanded special responsibility, resilience, and professional commitment from each of us. It was a period filled with challenges and important decisions.

For the Central Election Commission, every year is special, particularly when it is an election year, as this means gaining new experience and development.

The work of the Central Election Commission goes beyond merely complying with procedures and deadlines. It is daily, often unseen labor that is crucial to the country’s development. That is why, dear colleagues and election administrators, your role and contribution to this process deserve particular recognition.

Throughout the year, we successfully carried out our entrusted responsibilities in line with high professional standards, with strict adherence to legislation and cooperation grounded in mutual respect. Through our collective efforts, we improved both the administration of electoral processes and our internal work mechanisms and communication.

Naturally, the year was not an easy one. It was marked by challenges, a heavy workload, and a critical environment. Yet it was under these conditions that the institution’s strength became most evident-through calmness, principled action, and mutual support. Each such experience serves as a lesson and forms the basis for our future development.

It is especially important that the experience gained this year enables us to work even more effectively in the future, further develop our professional skills, and strengthen our organizational culture.

The coming year will bring new tasks, including even more effective preparation for future electoral cycles. Nevertheless, I am confident that the sense of responsibility that unites us today will enable us to meet all challenges with dignity.

I extend my sincere gratitude to each of you, the members and staff of the Central Election Commission, the Supreme Election Commission, the Training Center, and the District Election Commissions for your hard work, patience, dedicated service, and commitment. I wish you good health, continued professional success, and a peaceful, productive New Year.

I extend my New Year’s greetings not only to election administrators, but to our entire country and to all our fellow citizens, both at home and abroad. I wish every family peace, health, and prosperity. May the New Year bring greater mutual understanding, respect for one another, and trust that are especially vital to strengthening our society and advancing our country. I wish you peace, prosperity, and a successful New Year.

Today, the Chairperson of the Central Election Commission shared information with the public about the sessions. As Giorgi Kalandarishvili noted, the CEC held its 42nd and final session of the year. Over the course of 2025, the CEC adopted 56 decrees and 242 ordinances, through which significant decisions were made.

“During this period, we had the opportunity to fully implement the electronic session management system introduced last year, which ensured the efficient conduct of sessions. Sessions were also made public and accessible via live broadcasts on the electoral administration’s social media channels, thereby ensuring both the transparency of the decision-making process and the ability for participating parties to observe sessions remotely. I would like to express my gratitude to all staff involved in organizing the sessions, managing their coverage, and handling other organizational and technical matters – the Departments of Strategic Communications and Information Technologies, especially the Secretariat staff, as well as all structural units and the Training Centre for their work in preparing, reviewing, and participating in the sessions,” stated Giorgi Kalandarishvili.
