French Media reports withdrawal of three intelligence officers from Tbilisi

The French Directorate General for External Security (DGSE) is at the heart of a high-profile espionage case exposed by Georgian intelligence services, according to a report published by Intelligence Online.

The publication claims that the French intelligence agency was forced this month to withdraw three officers stationed in Tbilisi after Georgia’s State Security Service exposed the DGSE’s recruitment of a key figure close to former PM Bidzina Ivanishvili, sparking a rift between the countries.

However, there has been no official confirmation regarding whether the three French officials were declared persona non grata by Georgian authorities.
