Steven Nicandros: We Look to future, strengthening shared U.S.–Georgia values and expanding Middle Corridor cooperation”
The relationship between the United States and its longtime ally, Georgia, has been strengthened not only through diplomacy, but through people: through educators and students, entrepreneurs and investors, members of the military, faith communities, and countless personal relationships built over many years, said Steven Nicandros, co-founder of the oil company Frontera, at an event organized by the Georgian Embassy in the United States to mark Georgia’s Independence Day.
According to him, these connections form the basis for a strong and lasting relationship between the two countries.
“It is not about strategy or geopolitics — it’s about friendship. The relationship between the United States and its longtime ally, Georgia, has been strengthened not only through diplomacy, but through people: through educators and students, entrepreneurs and investors, members of the military, faith communities, and countless personal relationships built over many years. Those connections create the foundation upon which lasting partnerships are ultimately built.
So, as we celebrate this evening, let us look toward the future of U.S.-Georgia relations — a future of continuing to build on our shared values; a future of stronger commercial ties; a future of deeper cultural and educational exchanges; a future of expanded cooperation in trade, energy, technology, investment, and the development of the Middle Corridor; and a future in which two nations that value freedom, sovereignty, national identity, and self-determination continue to strengthen the bonds of friendship between their peoples.
To our Georgian friends: may your independence continue to inspire, may your nation continue to prosper, and may the friendship between Georgia and the United States continue to flourish for years to come,” said Steven Nicandros.
