Georgia expels 85 foreign nationals in recent days

Employees of the Migration Department of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, in close coordination with relevant ministry units, have expelled 85 foreign nationals from the country in recent days.

According to the ministry, the individuals expelled included citizens of Turkey, India, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Russia, Egypt, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Ethiopia, Jordan, Cuba, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Pakistan, Thailand, the Philippines and other countries.

In accordance with Georgian law, the expelled individuals have also been banned from entering the country.

So far this year, the Migration Department has expelled 2,726 foreign nationals from Georgia for illegal stay, the ministry said. This figure is already twice the total number recorded throughout last year.
