CEC hosts meeting of working group on ethnic minority issues

Central Election Commission (CEC) hosted a meeting of the working group on Ethnic Minority Issues

During the meeting, participants discussed projects implemented for voters residing in regions densely populated with ethnic minorities and upcoming informational and educational programs and certification examinations. The Chairperson of the Working Group, Giorgi Santuriani, provided the participants with detailed information on these matters.

Santuriani also introduced the participants to the electronic platform for mock certification exams developed by the CEC and the Training Center, which aims to facilitate preparation for certification exams and verify the knowledge of election legislation by interested parties. It is worth noting that the new platform is trilingual, and users have the opportunity to prepare for certification in the language of their choice.

The meeting also included a demonstration of the electronic vote-counting machine. Participants experienced firsthand what the machine looks like after adding a cover to the ballot slot.

The working group was established within the CEC to promote an equal electoral environment for ethnic minority voters. The group is comprised of representatives from the election administration, state agencies, and non-governmental organizations working on ethnic minority issues.
