Tbilisi Mayor: Constant blackmail of Georgian people with visa-free travel issue unacceptable
“Constant blackmailing of Georgian people by the European bureaucracy with visa-free travel and visa liberalization issues is categorically unacceptable,” Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze told reporters.
According to Kaladze, this attitude is explained by the unforgiveness of Georgian people for making decisions independently.
“There are many nations and countries in the world, more numerous than ours, with larger economies. Georgia, with a population of about four million, is truly distinctive and special in its character, which, unfortunately, no European has been able to understand. The explanation is their inability to forgive Georgian people for making decisions independently.
We are doing what is most important and beneficial for the country, and we are not giving anyone the opportunity to use Georgia to pursue their own interests,” he said.
