PM Kobakhidze says Georgia views Kyrgyzstan not only as significant, reliable partner, but also as friend

“Given the existing political and economic relations, Georgia views Kyrgyzstan not only as a significant and reliable partner, but also as a friend state,” said Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze during the joint briefing with President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov.

Irakli Kobakhidze noted that his visit to Kyrgyzstan would give a new impetus to Georgia-Kyrgyzstan bilateral relations.

“It is a great honor for me to be in the Kyrgyz Republic today, together with the official delegation. Although our peoples are linked by close historical ties, this is the first high-level visit between our countries. I could boldly describe this visit as historical.

I hope, and I am convinced, that this visit will give a new impetus to Georgia-Kyrgyzstan bilateral relations. We had a very interesting, in-depth discussion about bilateral relations, touching on issues of the regional and international agenda. A joint statement and bilateral documents, signed by the President of Kyrgyzstan and me, will create favorable conditions for close cooperation in the future.

I would like to extend my gratitude to our friends for cordial and high-level hospitality.

This year, Kyrgyzstan celebrates the 35th anniversary of independence, and in connection with this date, Mr President, I convey my heartfelt congratulations and wish you and the friendly Kyrgyz people peace and prosperity.

I would also take the opportunity to express gratitude for unwavering, unconditional and consistent support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Given the existing political and economic relations, Georgia views Kyrgyzstan not only as a significant and reliable partner, but also as a friend state. This has a solid foundation, grounded in the historical friendship established between our peoples and our countries.

Within the expanded format meeting, we reviewed a wide spectrum of Georgia-Kyrgyzstan cooperation and significant regional and global issues.

While discussing the issues on the agenda of bilateral relations, we focused on the significance of bilateral trade and economic cooperation and its further development. It was emphasized that the development of this cooperation has vast potential,” Irakli Kobakhidze said.
