“As of today, Georgia recorded 45 new cases of coronavirus which is the highest rate since the virus outbreak,” said Amiran Gamkrelidze, the Head of the National Center for Desease Control and Prevention (NCDC).
“We often say this is not a reason to panic, but it is very noteworthy, as, unfortunately, our population, especially during the summer, relaxed too much,” stressed Gamkrelidze.
“We have created an illusion as if we beat the virus, but we did not. It is impossible for a single country to defeat the pandemic as this is a global challenge and the whole world will solve it together. It will take at least a year, or one year and a half,” said Amiran Gamkrelidze.
