PM: EP resembles Soviet-era institution, its resolutions uninteresting

“The resolutions of the European Parliament are absolutely uninteresting. If anything resembles a Soviet institution today, unfortunately, it’s the European Parliament,” the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated.

“If anything resembles a Soviet institution today, unfortunately, it’s the European Parliament. Its current state is no different from the Soviet Supreme Council. I remember the pathos of the 1980s—the discussions, the injustice—and sadly, today’s European Parliament is no different. I hope future reforms in the EU will start with its legislature. The situation that we are observing in the European Parliament is sad and disturbing, tragic,” Kobakhidze told journalists.
