NCDC and CDC launch Nationwide Serosurvey for Hepatitis B, C and COVID-19

The Georgian National Center for Diseases Control and Public Health (NCDC) and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced the launch of the Nationwide Serosurvey for Hepatitis B and C and COVID-19 on June 21.

According to the US Embassy to Georgia, this survey will assess the progress of the Hepatitis C Elimination Program, coverage of hepatitis B vaccination, exposure to SARS-CoV-2, and help health professionals target treatment and interventions to Georgians affected by hepatitis.

The Embassy said that the United States and Georgia are strong partners in many sectors, including public health. “This is an important step toward eliminating viral hepatitis in Georgia,” the statement reads.
