GD's Gorduladze: Saakashvili admits UNM's role in organizing rallies

Archil Gorduladze, Chair of the Parliamentary Legal Affairs Committee, stated that Mikheil Saakashvili [Georgia’s jailed ex-president] disclosed the fact that the recent rallies were organized by the National Movement.

“Saakashvili revealed that the rallies across various streets were initiated by the National Movement. Once they recognized his misstep, they quickly tried to adjust their narrative. Now, they’re scrambling to reframe the situation. Nevertheless, his statements are meaningless; he resembles a desperate clown. He even no longer takes orders from his patrons. He’s trying to remind everyone of his existence,’” Gorduladze remarked.

He further remarked, “The Georgian people understand the destructive forces working against the country. Saakashvili is a tool of these anti-Georgian interests. He has lost his edge and can no longer fulfil his patrons’ assignments.”

On December 22, Saakashvili posted on social media about the protests, saying, “It is a mistake to bring so many people and send them back without a victory.” The post was later edited, with Saakashvili claiming his remarks were misinterpreted.
