MP Gorduladze: Georgian people do not accept directives from any capital or country
“We, the Georgian people, do not wish to receive directives from any capital or country. We deserve equal and respectful treatment,” said Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Affairs, Archil Gorduladze.
According to Gorduladze, Georgia should be treated as an equal partner, and the “attacks on the Georgian people” should stop. He added that, in his view, Georgia is often subject to unfair criticism and double standards.
“Now some are questioning how an independent nation can raise its voice and demand answers. It appears that, in their view, human rights violations in Denmark are not a problem, while in Georgia, responding to a violent protest is considered a democratic setback.
We, the Georgian people, do not accept directives from any capital or country. Georgia should be treated equally. Stop attacking the Georgian people,” he concluded.
His remarks come in the context of a recent open letter sent by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze to senior EU officials, including the Presidents of the European Commission, European Council, and European Parliament.
