Deputy Foreign Minister – Detention of Kvemo Chala local at occupational line is provocation for which Russia and occupational forces are responsible

Lasha Darsalia, Deputy Foreign Minister evaluates the detention of Kvemo Chala local at occupational line as yet another provocation for which Russia and occupational forces are responsible.

“Unfortunately, different types of provocations have been taking place often lately, such as so-called illegal borderization or various grounds. Among them is this latest incident, which is a serious incident and another provocation that serves as unequivocally gross violation of the 2008 ceasefire agreement,” Darsalia said.

Russian occupants detained a Georgian citizen near the occupational line at Skhvilo Fortress in Kaspi Municipality of Shida Kartli region.

The State Security Service confirmed that the man was wounded in his leg. A hotline is activated and EUMM is notified about the fact. Reportedly, the young man is transferred to occupied Akhalgori town.
