As part of a working visit to Washington, Georgia’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Lasha Darsalia held meetings at the US Department of Commerce, the Georgian Foreign Ministry said.
According to the ministry, Darsalia met with Deputy Secretary of Commerce for Trade and Investment William Kimmitt and Deputy Secretary of Industry and Security Jeffrey Kessler. Georgia’s Ambassador to the United States, Tamar Taliashvili, also attended the meeting.
The parties discussed the development of the Georgia–US partnership in transport and logistics, regional trade, digital technologies, artificial intelligence and innovation. The talks also covered ongoing infrastructure projects and prospects for further cooperation.
Particular attention was paid to Georgia’s role in the development of the Middle Corridor. In this context, the sides discussed readiness to implement American investments in the high-tech sector, the ministry said.
