Constructive discussions held with Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister, says US Department of State spokesperson

A constructive conversation took place on February 3 between a senior official from the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs and the Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Lasha Darsalia, the State Department representative said. According to a department spokesperson, the meeting focused on issues of “common interest.”

Kartlos Sharashenidze, a journalist of Independence Avenue Media, shared comments from the spokesperson.

“Brendan Hanrahan, the senior official for the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, and Lasha Darsalia, Georgia’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, discussed opportunities for cooperation in the South Caucasus region stemming from the historic peace agreement reached between Armenia and Azerbaijan on August 8, 2025, brokered by President Trump,” the spokesperson said in response to a question from Independence Avenue Media.
