Deputy Foreign Minister addresses annual meeting of Group of Friends of Universal Health Coverage & Global Health
Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Lasha Darsalia addressed the Sixth Annual Ministerial Meeting of the Group of Friends of Universal Health Coverage & Global Health.
Darsalia spoke about Georgia’s efforts and progress in universal health care achieved since 2013. He remarked that in 2025, Georgia launched a comprehensive primary healthcare reform and reviewed the main directions of the reform.
Lasha Darsalia stated that strong cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO), partners and professional organizations ensured the success of the reform and its compatibility with the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.
The Deputy Foreign Minister emphasized that healthcare systems had to be flexible, inclusive and future-oriented in a rapidly changing world.
He said Georgia’s experience confirmed that strategic investments in primary healthcare, digital health, and financial protection not only strengthen resilience but also bring the country closer to the vision of universal health coverage.
