“I congratulate Mr Bidzina Ivanishvili, a man who wrote the history of our country’s peaceful development, on his birthday,” Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze posted on social media.

According to Kaladze, Bidzina Ivanishvili spared Georgia from war and an attempted coup.

“His contribution to Georgia’s development and implementation of vital projects for the country is immense, but Bidzina Ivanishvili’s main benevolent act is his entry into politics and his political activities. Today, when the world has witnessed the unmasking of fascism wrapped in the guise of liberalism, all processes have become clear as day, and the danger that the Georgian Dream under Bidzina Ivanishvili’s leadership saved the country from has become evident.

On this sole path of saving our country, there were numerous challenges, sanctions, threats, and blackmail against Bidzina Ivanishvili, yet just as in 2012, together with the Georgian people and with the support of the vast majority of the population, he walked this path with dignity, spared Georgia from war and an attempted coup. I congratulate Bidzina Ivanishvili on today’s date and wish him health and longevity for Georgia’s wellbeing!” Kakha Kaladze wrote.
