Georgian citizen hands over cartographic material on Davit Gareji case to POG
The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia (POG) says Georgian citizen handed over cartographic material on Davit Gareji case to POG.
As the prosecutor Jarji Tsiklauri stated at today’s briefing, this material has already been sent to the experts.
“The cartographic examination revealed that a number of sections of the agreed border between Georgia and Azerbaijan until 2007, do not correspond to the Georgian border line on 1: 200,000 scale topographic maps published in 1937-1938. The difference to the detriment of Georgia is about 3500 hectares. Consequently, as a result of the criminal actions of the accused, there was a danger of losing the territories historically belonging to Georgia,” the prosecutor’s office said in a statement.
