PM meets UAE Minister of State Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh

Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia met Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh, State Minister of the United Arab Emirates for Foreign, Economic and Trade Affairs, who is visiting Georgia in connection with the inauguration of the Tbilisi Dry Port, the Government Administration reported.

During the meeting, held at the Government Administration, the dignitaries focused on the successful bilateral cooperation between Georgia and the United Arab Emirates in various fields, as well as the positive momentum in the development of trade and economic relations.

Special emphasis was placed on the strategic importance of the dry port project in strengthening trade flows across the Caucasus and Central Asia, including cargo transportation from China and the Far East via the Middle Corridor.

The meeting also highlighted another strong example of close investment cooperation between Georgia and the UAE: the agreement signed with the major development companies Emaar Properties and Eagle Hills, under which a $6 billion USD investment will be made in Georgia.

The UAE Minister of State thanked the Prime Minister of Georgia for the Government’s support towards investors and noted that the strong partnership between the two countries will continue to be aimed at fostering peace, security and stability.
