PM’s report: In medium term, government’s key task is to ensure country’s economy rediness for EU membership
“Due to Georgia’s EU candidate country status, the government’s key task in the medium term is to ensure readiness of the country’s economy for EU membership,” reads the Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s annual report.
The document says that Georgia, as an EU candidate country, in accordance with the methodology developed by the European Commission for EU candidate countries, has prepared its third “Economic Reform Program” for 2028, which was submitted to the European Commission on January 15, 2026.
The annual report of Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has been submitted in written form to the parliament. The PM will deliver the report at the end of June, with the exact date to be finalized.
