NCDC Heads says coronavirus vaccine will be largely available from spring of 2021
According to the head of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health (NCDC), Amiran Gamkrelidze, no vaccine against coronavirus has been approved as yet.
“However, Georgia has already made a prepayment and when the vaccine is approved, the country will receive it. Georgia paid more to have a chance to choose which one to purchase,” said Gamkrelidze.
NCDC Head noted that the coronavirus vaccine will be largely available starting from the spring of 2021, in March-April.
Georgia reported 3 216 new coronavirus cases, 3 937 recoveries and 37 deaths in the past 24 hours.
In total, Georgia’s coronavirus cases increased to 135 584, of those 113 986 recovered and 1 267 died.
