Champions League winner Khvicha Kvaratskhelia gave his first interview to Peter Schmeichel, who works as an expert analyst for UEFA television.

The legendary Danish goalkeeper asked the following to the Georgian footballer:

Khvicha, four months ago you were in a completely different place, and now you’re a Champions League winner. This wasn’t just 1-0 – you won 5-0! How do you feel at this moment?

“It’s hard to describe. This is an incredible feeling, I’m shocked. I still can’t believe I’m standing here. But I always believed this was possible. I’m a Champions League winner and I’m very happy. We achieved all of this together – with the club and the coaches.”

You should definitely be proud. This was an unimaginable performance from you – not just today, but since you joined PSG. What do you think this team can achieve and how long can you continue this dominance?”

“I think this team deserved the championship even before I joined, but football often presents difficult moments that you have to overcome. We managed to do that. Beating Inter 5-0 in the final is not easy.”

It seems like today each of you was enjoying Luis Enrique’s style of football.

“The most important thing is that we’re like a family. We always try to help each other as much as possible. The coach works amazingly, explains everything perfectly to us, and we try to translate that onto the pitch.”
