Khvicha Kvaratskhelia played a key role in Paris Saint-Germain’s successful defense of the UEFA Champions League Final title, winning a penalty in a dramatic final against Arsenal in Budapest.

The match ended 1–1 after regular and extra time, with PSG prevailing 4–3 in the penalty shootout to claim their second consecutive Champions League crown.

The final began poorly for the French side, as Arsenal took an early lead in the 6th minute through Kai Havertz following a swift counterattack.

PSG gradually took control of the game and found an equalizer in the second half. Kvaratskhelia was brought down inside the penalty area, earning his side a penalty, which Ousmane Dembélé converted in the 65th minute to make it 1–1.

PSG head coach Luis Enrique substituted Kvaratskhelia in the 83rd minute, replacing him with Bradley Barcola.

Neither side was able to find a winner during the remainder of regular time or the additional 30 minutes of extra time, sending the match to a penalty shootout.

PSG won the shootout 4–3, securing back-to-back Champions League titles.
