HCDC Head says epidemiological situation in Georgia is difficult but manageable

The head of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health (NCDC), Amiran Gamkrelidze, says the epidemiological situation in Georgia is difficult but manageable.

According to him, “it is true that there are some shortcomings regarding the hospitalization of patients, but everyone is provided with assistance as needed.”

“Nobody hides, the epidemiological situation is difficult but manageable. As of today, there were about 350 free hospital beds, including several hundred breathing devices,” noted Gamkrelidze.

NCDC Head added that “the death rate outside of the hospital is one of the lowest in our country.”

Georgia reported 3 216 new coronavirus cases, 3 937 recoveries and 37 deaths in the past 24 hours.

In total, Georgia’s coronavirus cases increased to 135 584, of those 113 986 recovered and 1 267 died.
