Georgian citizens to be brought from Italy to be subjected to 14-day compulsory quarantine

The Georgian citizens to be brought from Italy later today with help of the Georgian government will be subjected to a 14-day compulsory quarantine after having been thoroughly examined medically.

The inter-institutional Coordination Council established at the order of Prime Minister in prevention of novel coronavirus, held yet another sitting this afternoon.

Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia, who heads the council, inquired about the latest information on coronavirus cases worldwide and the health condition of Georgian citizens infected with the virus.

Foreign Minister Davit Zalkaliani said that Georgian Embassy in Italy will organize bringing of Georgian citizens to Rome after which they would be transported by a plane to Georgia.

Natia Turnava, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development said that the airplane had already been sent to Rome.

The Coordination Council once again called on citizens to strictly observe the quarantine requirements and self-isolation. It urges for showing high social responsibility not to pose a threat to their family members and whole public.
