Qatar Airways launches operations on Georgian cargo transport market

Qatar Airways operated its first regular cargo flight and launched operations in the Georgian cargo transit market.

Based on the permit issued by the Civil Aviation Agency of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, the air company will operate Doha-Yerevan-Tbilisi-Doha flights once a week by Boeing 777 type airplane transporting cargo between Georgia and Qatar.

Georgia’s air transport market has significantly grown in recent years. In 2025, the volume of cargo transported by air reached 38,578 tons, an absolute record in the history of Georgian airports.

In 2025, cargo turnover increased by 50% compared to 2024, and compared to 2023, this figure is an improvement of 101%, which means that the market volume has doubled in just two years.
