CEC Chair continues engagement with district election commissions in regional meetings

The Central Election Commission (CEC) Chair, Giorgi Kalandarishvili, continues to hold working meetings with district election commissions across the regions, personally reviewing the preparations for the upcoming municipal elections.

According to the CEC, Giorgi Kalandarishvili recently convened another working session with Giorgi Santuriani, Head of the CEC Staff and Legal Department, at the Kutaisi District Election Commission.

They thoroughly reviewed the activities undertaken and currently underway by the Commission in preparation for the municipal elections scheduled for October 4. The parties also discussed the training programmes and professional retraining initiatives for precinct election commissions.

“Regional meetings with District Election Commissions are ongoing. This time, we are in Kutaisi, where we have the opportunity to gather firsthand information from all members of the District Election Commission during a working meeting centred on election preparations, local challenges, and the current needs of the institution. Naturally, such meetings will continue before the elections, enabling us to maintain close contact with District Election Commissions at the local level. This approach will support the efficient and highly professional administration of the elections,” emphasised Giorgi Kalandarishvili.

Notably, the CEC are gradually familiarising itself with the preparations of District Election Commissions across the country for the 2025 local elections, the CEC said in a statement.
