Batumi protesters take to streets demanding freedom for Mzia Amaglobeli

A protest rally is currently underway in Batumi, as demonstrators gather near the stadium, calling for the release of Mzia Amaglobeli, founder of Batumelebi and Netgazeti media outlets, and all political prisoners.

The protesters are marching along the central highway’s pedestrian crossing, waving banners and using megaphones to amplify their demands as they reach out to passing drivers.

Mzia Amaglobeli, founder and director of the media outlets Batumelebi and Netgazeti, was arrested on January 12 under Article 353 of the Criminal Code, which pertains specifically to assaults on police officers
