Amiran Gamkrelidze says an increase in COVID-19 cases is not a ground for panic

Amiran Gamkrelidze, the Head of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health (NCDC), said: “The recent increase in coronavirus cases was predictable as the economy reopened and mobility is growing.”

The Head of NCDC noted that “there is no ground for panic, the epidemiological situation in the country is under control, however, citizens should be careful.”

Amiran Gamkrelidze added that “there is a tendency to increase the number of mild coronavirus cases.” He said the NCDC will publish the second report on coronavirus later on today or tomorrow.
