“It was a significant day for U.S.-Georgia relations. I had the honor of presenting my Letters of Credence to the President of the United States, Donald Trump,” said Georgian Ambassador to the United States, Tamar Taliashvili.
“During our conversation, I also conveyed the greetings and best wishes of the Government of Georgia, the Georgian people, the Prime Minister, and the President of Georgia. I shared with President Trump the key messages that define our country’s position toward the United States – messages that reflect Georgia’s readiness to open a new chapter in our bilateral relationship, grounded in mutual benefit and strengthened partnership. We are committed to deepening the people-to-people connections that already exist between our nations,” Ambassador Taliashvili stated following the ceremony.
The Ambassador emphasized the “cordial and friendly atmosphere” in which the meeting took place. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio was also in attendance at the ceremony.
“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the U.S. administration for making it possible to organize this important ceremony involving Georgia in such a short time frame. It is also important to highlight the strong support we received to ensure that all necessary procedures were completed as swiftly and efficiently as possible,” she added.
Ambassador Taliashvili also noted that a day prior to the presentation of the Letters of Credence, she had a “productive and meaningful” meeting with the Chief of Protocol of the United States, Ambassador Monica Crawley.
“The meeting was conducted in a very warm and friendly atmosphere. Throughout these engagements, we had the opportunity to discuss ways to further strengthen Georgia–U.S. relations and to outline the action plan that will guide our future cooperation, ensuring that it remains strong, strategic, and enduring,” she concluded.
