Georgia’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Sulkhan Tamazashvili, accompanied by Deputy Minister Aleksandre Darakhvelidze, visited the Migration Department. During the visit, Tamazashvili held a working meeting with the department’s leadership and discussed the reforms implemented within the unit.

“The Minister of Internal Affairs emphasized that combating illegal migration remains one of the Georgian government’s priority areas. It was also noted during the meeting that the strengthened legislative framework and upgraded infrastructure have made the fight against illegal migration even more effective,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement.

According to the ministry, the minister also toured the Migration Department’s new administrative building and inspected its upgraded vehicle fleet.

Sulkhan Tamazashvili thanked the department’s employees for their results-oriented work.
