U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the U.S. is going to “run” Venezuela “until such time as we can do a safe, proper and judicious transition.”

“So we don’t want to be involved with having somebody else get in and the same situation that we had for the last long period of years,” he stated.

Trump referred to a “partnership” between Venezuela and the United States, which he said would make Venezuelans “rich, independent and safe.”

Trump called Maduro an “illegitimate dictator” who was responsible for bringing “colossal amounts of deadly illicit drugs” into the U.S.

The U.S. President added that the US is “ready” to stage a second “and much larger” attack on the country if needed.
