The Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Parliament of Georgia, MP Nikoloz Samkharadze, and the Chairman of the European Integration Committee, MP Levan Makhashvili, have held meetings with Kathleen Depoorter, Deputy Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives, and Werner Somers, a member of the lower house, as well as with representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The two sides discussed opportunities for deepening parliamentary diplomacy and cooperation between the legislative bodies, prospects for expanding the bilateral agenda, and current developments in Georgia and the wider region.

According to the Georgian Parliament, discussions also focused on the Georgia–EU partnership, Georgia’s steps on its European integration path, and the current challenges facing their relations. Both sides stressed the critical need to maintain a full and comprehensive dialogue.
