US President congratulates Georgian President on Independence Day: This year offers opportunities to reforge bonds of US–Georgia friendship
The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has congratulated the President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, and the Georgian people on Georgia’s Independence Day.
According to the Presidential Administration, the letter of congratulations was delivered to the Georgian side by the Acting U.S. Ambassador Alan Purcell.
In his message, the U.S. President stated that this year presents new opportunities to renew friendly ties between the American and Georgian peoples and to promote the security and prosperity of both countries.
“Dear Mr. President:
On behalf of the United States, congratulations to the people of Georgia as you celebrate your national day.
This year offers fresh opportunities to reforge the bonds of friendship between the American and Georgian people, and to advance greater security and prosperity for both our nations. The United States remains steadfast in its support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders.
We stand with the Georgian people as they pursue lasting security, self-determination, and independence,” the letter reads.
